Travel - Sobeck 's Roots are in trekking and river
rafting, but over the years MTS has added a variety
of other adventures to their program—like safaris,
sea kayaking, hiking, wildlife and natural history,
cultural encounters, small boat cruising, photo expeditions,
and even camel treks! MTS
rates the trips in terms of difficulty. Each trip
is rated on a level from "1" to "5"
("1" is easiest, "5" is most strenuous—and
you'll notice a few with a "+" that indicates
a trip that falls in between). Except from a few trips,
porters, pack animals, or support vehicles (or other
conveyances such as rafts and kayaks) carry all the
gear. All you ever carry is a light daypack. That
said, you'll get more enjoyment out of any trip if
you are in good physical condition.
